Many misconceptions are out there in regards to PBL, and I hope they all will be highlighted in this blog. One of a few of those is that PBL is just projects. "I can't teach my standards with projects." I hear that often. Sometimes I wish the model called PBL didn't mean PROJECT-based learning. I understand why it is, but Life-based learning is almost more appropriate. So, my introductions to PBL in my trainings always deal with this fallacy first. The project is the natural side effect of the real-life standards-based learning that is happening in your classroom or school. A project or product is just one of the pieces that show how the task, challenge, or problem is answered and solved. Let's pose problems to our kids so they can learn how to navigate career and life better. PBL is the answer to that, PBLGo! will help you get there.
